About Samsan Innovation and Labs
A small team doing unreasonable things with robots.
Our Story
Comprehensive solutions across multiple industries
Founded in December 2021, Samsan Innovation and Labs Pvt Ltd is a Bengaluru-based physical AI and robotics engineering company. We design and build autonomous machines — and the perception, navigation, manipulation, and control systems inside them — for agriculture, automotive, railway, and space.
We started in safety-critical embedded engineering: radar software for vehicles, inspection systems for railways, camera payloads for space. That work taught us the discipline most robotics startups skip — compliance, validation, firmware that cannot fail.
Then we pointed that discipline at a problem in our own backyard: Indian agriculture loses crores to weeds every year, and the two existing answers — herbicides and stooped human labor — are both running out of road.
"We learned engineering discipline in automotive, rail, and space. Then we aimed it at a field."
Our answer is the SAMSAN autonomous weeding robot: a swarm of machines that see weeds, navigate to them, and pull them out. Building it forced us to master every layer of physical AI. Offering those layers to clients is now half of what we do.
What we believe.
End-to-end or not at all
Most robotics failures happen at the seams between teams and vendors. Our engineers own everything from the neural network to the motor driver.
The field is the benchmark
Simulation matters — we invest heavily in it — but a system isn't done until it survives dust, vibration, glare, and a monsoon.
Hard problems over easy demos
Mechanical removal is harder than spraying. Edge inference is harder than cloud APIs. We pick the harder path when it solves the problem.
